How does the Pocket Spa hydrate my skin? The micro-mist from the Pocket Spa comprises of tiny water droplets that are small enough to penetrate into the skin and replace lost moisture.

How is it better that steam? Firstly, hot steam if applied directly to the face will cause severe burns. Do not try this at home. Steam is a gas and like all gases it is invisible, the white billowy clouds coming from a kettle or the warm steam used in spa treatments is actually condensing steam which is formed when the invisible gas comes into contact with cooler air. As the steam condenses the gas returns to liquid form and the water particles join together into larger and larger droplets. These droplets are larger that those produced by the pocket Spa, thus the Pocket Spa is both safer and more effective at providing moisture to the skin.

Relative Size of Water Droplets
Pocket Spa 8µm (microns)
Hot Steam 100µm (microns)
Drizzle 300µm (microns)
Normal Rain 1mm (millimeter)

I love to mist my face. How does the Pocket Spa differ from the water available in aerosol cans? The spray from aerosols are both larger and propelled at a much higher speed than the droplets from the Pocket Spa. This causes the aerosol droplets to join together in to larger droplets and also causes the water to literally bounce off the face. By comparison, the Pocket Spa produces a stable mist with droplets that do not readily join together, allowing them to float onto and penetrate into the skin without wetness. Also the Pocket Spa is refillable, meaning less empty cans in landfills and ultimately better for our planet.

Can I use any water in the Pocket Spa? The technology that produces the micro-mist is designed to be used with water and will become blocked or clogged if the liquid particles are too big or if there are oils present in the liquid. Also if the pH value of the water is too high the water particles will be bound more tightly together and it will be harder for the Pocket Spa to create the micro-mist. So while most tap water is fine we recommend that you choose bottle or filtered tap water. Water that is too hard, chalky, has a high pH value or a high sulphuric content should be avoided.

How do I know if my tap water is good? Test your tap water against bottled water and see if there is a difference in the Pocket Spa’s output. Make sure the battery is fully charged. There should be little difference in volume from each water type. If there is a significant reduction in output this is an indication that the water used is not appropriate for the Pocket Spa. If this occurs see cleaning instructions to clean the device and remove any possible residue from the reservoir.

Can I use other liquids? Short answer is NO. Please see above — However, I have created a small line of infused waters called Aquasols™ that have been specifically developed for use with the Pocket Spa. They are oil free, pH balanced and have been tested for use in the Pocket Spa.

What are Aquasols™? Aquasols™ are hand-crafted, oil free, steam distilled, floral and herbal waters created specifically for the Pocket Spa. There are two varieties currently available, one for day — to invigorated and revive and one for evening use to calm and soothe.

What should I do if I accidentally put an inappropriate liquid in the Pocket Spa? Stop use immediately and empty the water reservoir. Place the device upside down on a towel or tissue for several minutes to let any remaining liquid in the filter chamber drain out. Using a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol gently swab the nano screen as well as the crevices inside the reservoir. Fill reservoir with fresh water, replace cap and shake gently. Drain for a second time, and immediately refill with fresh bottled water then turn on the Pocket Spa and cycle through a minimum of two spa sessions until a stable mist is achieved. If this fails to solve the problem, remove water and dry gently with cloth. After several hours try the cleaning process again. If this fails there may be permanent damage caused by use of an inappropriate liquid.

Is the Pocket Spa water proof? NO, the Pocket Spa contains many delicate electronic components and should not be submerged in water. Salt water can be particularly corrosive to the sensitive nano filters and electronic components and should be avoided.

How long with a battery charge last? The battery is a Lithium battery and has an approximate lifespan of 3-5 years depending on use and maintenance. Upon receiving your Pocket Spa, fully charge it then fully discharge it before again recharging. After this the Pocket Spa should be charged at least once a week to maintain optimum battery life.

What results can I expect to see? On visibly dehydrated skin you will see immediate results as the Pocket Spa returns moisture to the epidermis. You can expect a new glowy dewiness that looks fresh and youthful. Over time, fine lines and wrinkles will appear softened with regular use of the Pocket Spa.

Additionally, because dehydrated skin sheds skin cells faster than new cells are produced – which adds to the signs of premature aging – keeping the skin hydrated helps fight these symptoms.

What does it feel like? It feels very cool and gentle on the skin, like walking in early morning mist and it immediately relieves any tightness that you might be feeling due to dehydrated skin. The micro-mist is stable and floats forward towards your skin, enveloping it with pure moisture. The micro-mist is so fine and light that it may be used directly into open eyes, offering immediate relief to dry and tired eyes.

Will I look younger? That really depends on what’s making you look older in the first place. If dry tight skin is the culprit then having hydrated, dewy skin will surely make you look more youthful.

Kelley’s advice: Stay hydrated and start early! After over 25 years as a makeup artist I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t and the advice I always give is stay hydrated and start early. Early in the morning and early in you life! Don’t wait till the wrinkles start appearing before you act. Take precautions now, to prevent premature aging later.

Can I use the Pocket Spa when I have makeup on? Yes, that’s one of the great things about the Pocket Spa, the micro-mist water droplets are so small they can penetrate through any make up you’re already wearing which helps keep your skin hydrated and your makeup looking fresh all day long.

How often should I use the Pocket Spa? Basically you can’t over use it, the nature of the micro-mist is that any droplets not absorbed into your skin will quickly evaporate. The Pocket Spa comes with an automatic shut off to save battery power and also dispenses just the right amount of moisture. Use the Pocket Spa first thing in the morning before and after cleansing and before and after makeup application. Follow up throughout out the day to keep looking fresh. Ideally you should use the Pocket Spa before your skin begins to feel dry and tight and make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day!

Should I give up using moisturizer? No. Moisturizers play an important roll in your skin care regimen. Apply a moisturizing creams, lotions or serums after morning cleansing and follow up with a Pocket Spa session to add extra hydration. In the evenings, after makeup removal and cleansing you may want to apply specific PM formula treatments, always following with a Pocket Spa session to help retain moisture while you sleep.

Can I carry the Pocket Spa in my purse? The Pocket Spa is small enough to fit in most handbags but please use caution. Keep the Pocket Spa upright and away from phones and other electronics. Water is very permeable and if the Pocket Spa is upside down and or shaken it is possible that a small about of water could leak from the reservoir.

Can I take the Pocket Spa on a airplane? Yes, the Pocket Spa is a fantastic travel accessory and no place are the benefits more noticeable than in the dry, recycled air at thirty thousand feet! The water reservoir contains less than the maximum 4oz. of liquid allowed on fights, so while you can board with the device filled, due to the cabin pressure we recommend boarding with the device empty and fill with bottled water once airborne. But be warned, your fellow travelers will be asking questions and begging to borrow your in-flight miracle worker!
